Reader looking for a congregation

A reader has written me asking for the name of a progressive Church of Christ northeast of Birmingham, Alabama. Does anyone have a recommendation?

About Jay F Guin

My name is Jay Guin, and I’m a retired elder. I wrote The Holy Spirit and Revolutionary Grace about 18 years ago. I’ve spoken at the Pepperdine, Lipscomb, ACU, Harding, and Tulsa lectureships and at ElderLink. My wife’s name is Denise, and I have four sons, Chris, Jonathan, Tyler, and Philip. I have two grandchildren. And I practice law.

  1. Nick Gill says:

Rochester Church of Christ in Rochester Hills, Michigan — but that might be a bit farther north than your reader was asking.

North of Tuscaloosa, south of Nashville — whew — good luck.

  2. Rachel says:

Roebuck Parkway CoC, now in Roebuck, will be moving out to Trussville in three years, off Deerfoot Parkway exit (pending sale of their existing building).

  3. My recommendation is to be salt and light and leaven wherever the Lord puts you.

  4. He might try the Ohatchee church. It is about 200 and is a great progressive church.
