NEW Faith Lessons by Ray Vander Laan

Product Details Product Details Product Details Product Details Product Details I’ve just learned that Ray Vander Laan is in the process of releasing five more DVDs in his Faith Lessons series. They are available at the Focus on the Family online store.

They are not yet available through Ray’s own site, www.followtherabbi.com.

Amazon has copies available as well, including used sets — but if you expect to need multiple copies, you’d likely do best to work with Focus on the Family to get permission to make additional copies for church use. You wouldn’t, of course, make unauthorized copies, as that would be a felony.

It appears that four of the five new DVDs (vol. 8 – 11) are available for order, whereas vol. 12 is only available for pre-order. I don’t know whether the five will be available as a set (and possibly at a discount) later.

For those new to RVL, he produces truly extraordinary DVDs of solid, powerful Bible lessons as a DVD produced on location in the Middle East. He does a masterful job, and his DVDs are extremely popular as lesson materials for Bible classes and small groups. These are highly recommended for either. They run about 20 to 30 minutes long, so it works well to show the DVD and then follow with a discussion — or just serve doughnuts and play two DVDs. I’ve done it both ways.

My lesson notes for use with the first seven DVDs are posted on site. I’m sure we’ll be studying the next five at my church at the earliest opportunity, and so I’ll be posting more notes as we go.

PS — If you use these, do them in order. They build on each other. Also, the earliest ones are brilliant and just wonderful, but the later ones are even better.

I have dvds 8, 9, and 10 and we are currently using them in our rotations. We have been exposed to Ray Vander Laan for almost 5 years now, and these videos have been great for us.
Video 8 takes you to the Israelites in Egypt and is one of the best visual locations for the videos I think. These 3 deal with Egypt, the wilderness, crossing the Red Sea. Chronologically, they would come before the "Promised Land" dvd #1.

Vander Laan is the most popular thing I have done at two congregations now in two different states. Both congregations are conservative churches but they love RVL. He sheds light on the Bible like few have in a long time. I knew about volumes 8-10 but did not know that he was coming out with 11 and 12. This is great. We watch him the first Sunday night of every month so this will give me fresh material for years to come.
