Index is Finished

Thanks to the Alabama women’s softball team requiring three games to dispatch the Oklahoma women — winning Alabama’s fourth national championship of the year! — I’ve had plenty of time to get the new index in order.

I’ve also reworked the Pages widget to the right, removing the old index system (which was broken) and some other rarely used pages.

The new Index has two links: All and Index. “All” simply gives you the home page except with shorter excerpts than before.

But Index gives you a listing of categories that include all posts of any substance. I’ve not bothered to include cartoons, YouTube music, football, and personal items. (It was only two out of three games, you know.)

When you click on a link, the screen will reload with a listing of the posts in that particular category. You’ll also often see a list of sub-categories, which are typically series within the top category.

If you click on a category with sub-categories, you’ll have to click on the category you want to get the screen to load the posts you’re looking for.

There are well over 2,000 posts indexed there. I’d forgotten about a bunch of them myself, but it’s been fun digging through the old materials.

Experiment with the system and let me know what you think. There are several other formats for listing categories. If this doesn’t work well, I can try something else.
