Here in Tuscaloosa, we get snow about once every 10 years. What little snow we get is usually melted by 8 o’clock. But today we have sure-enough snow!! And it’s 10 and the snow is still coming down.
Now, we Southerners are entirely unfamiliar with how to drive in this stuff. We have no chains or snow tires. In fact, the favorite winter sport around here is golf! So we’ve had to cancel church for fear that if we asked people to come they’d get hurt trying to navigate on the ice and snow. (Besides, kids need a chance to play in God’s creation when it’s a once-in-ten-years event).
So here’s a camera-phone photo from my back window (I’m not a kid anymore and have no intention of actually going outside.)
Being a transplanted yankee, one of the VERY FEW things I miss about living in "God's Country" is about four good snows a year. We MIGHT get one and it's wet and nasty and gone by noon. However, I have a feeling that if I still lived in the north I would be complaining about the snow and dreaming of living in a place where it didn't snow. 🙂
