As predicted, the empty nest has resulted in a very long honey-do list and much less attention to the blog than before. (I wrote the Election posts the week before Labor Day.)
On top of all that, my computer is in the shop. Something about Norton’s and Google Toolbar not getting along. It won’t even boot in safe mode.
As a result, I’ve been commenting from my iPhone (nearly more trouble than it’s worth) and pushing my wife off her computer when not doing chores. (It’s hard to hide from chores while on her computer.)
Worse yet, I now have aches and pains in places I didn’t even know had nerve endings. (I think nerves that don’t get used much scream the loudest when they hurt. Does that make any sense?) It’s all quite disorienting — but the house is shaping up rather dramatically. (Hopefully, winter hits before she thinks to put me to work in the yard!)
I’ve hung about 10 billion pictures, lugged twice that many boxes up into the attic, shoved furniture here, there, and back again … My kids won’t even recognize the place the next time they come home. And we’ve had Comcast over about every other day to work on the internet following a lightning strike. I’m not sure it’s entirely fixed yet.
So, anyway, I’m finally start to catch up responding to the comments — and learning that even my fingers are sore!
Do you have WordPress for the iPhone?
David,
No. I reply to comments by replying to emails. Very simple, but hard to type my long-winded replies on that keypad.
David,
Just downloaded the app. Very cool. Thanks.

Maybe it's time for you to switch to Linux! 🙂

John,
Switching to Linux would be like … like … like changing denominations. I'm just too old. You know how it is. This one has its problems, but at least it's problems I already know.
Jay, I made the switch in my late 40s and haven't looked back. It's never too late to change! 🙂
