Abilene Christian’s lectureship, now called Summit, begins September 19, and I’m planning on attending along with some of the elders and staff here. I won’t be able to stay for the entire event, due to work commitments, but I expect to be there at least the first couple of days. I am excited!
The last time I was at an ACU lectureship, it was February and roughly 18,000,000 degrees below zero — not to mention the 500 MPH wind speed! It was colder than colder than cold. I’m so excited to get to go in reasonably temperate weather.
I won’t be teaching any classes or anything — just going for edification and to visit with the good people in West Texas. So if any of you all are planning to be there, look me up. I look just like my picture — except fatter, balder, older, and shorter (being an elder is really hard on the hairline). I really need to up date that thing, but that requires, you know, sitting for a picture.
I will be there & am also super excited!! I am soooo ready for some good Abilene barbecue & catching up with good friends.
They moved the dates while I was still working & doing my Master's at ACU…for that reason! The weather always ended up bad, people were falling on ice…not good! It was also always right before Sing Song, and too much squeezed into a short month!
Maybe I will see you there! Hope you enjoy.
Per the photo, there is a new device out there built into almost all new computers, called a web cam. Photos really quick 😉
I understand Danny has been asked to present his work on IM. I thought that was astonishing.
I hope to see you there. Come to the Herald of Truth breakfast on Tuesday, and I'll buy your meal. 😉
Grace and peace,
Tim Archer
Dwayne,
I just checked. No web cam on my monitor — just the way I ordered it.
In my younger days, I threw early morning papers in Abilene. We always knew that the coldest weather of the year would be during Lectureship (in February). Figured maybe it had something to do with God's approval (or lack thereof?) …
