Oh… why did you have to throw poor Woody under the bus? 😉
XRay,
I really don't know who wrote this — other than the Accuser himself. It might be a hoax, of course, in which case you must argue for the honor of Woody Hayes with the hoaxster. But if the letter is legit, you know, well, who could argue with the author?
Jay said; " But if the letter is legit, you know, well, who could argue with the author?"
You mean this Guy Jay,
Jhn 8:44 Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Funny. I also enjoyed the logo at the top swiped from Devil's Due Publishing. They used to publish G.I. Joe comics…some of my favorite issues.
Jay, you might want to find out if (He) switched to South Carolina.
Obviously, Spurrier got the contract taken from Miles. There is no other rational explanation.
Well, we can be sure of one thing. Mark Richt is absolutely, totally innocent of any dealings with this character. Either that or he learned his negotiating skills from a democrat.
Spurrier? Well he may have gotten a contract much earlier but he's been a winner all of his life. Cam Newton (Auburn's QB) needs to be looked into tho'.
should have said "Either that or he needs to brush up on his negotiating skills." i didn't mean to get 'political'.
Beware of conference games on the road.
Oh, and Les was correct with the crazy fake field goal. I have no idea what that means, but it worked…again.
The letter presented above is no forgery – it is actually the truth behind the matter.
If someone strives to become famous in this world – by excellency in sports or entertainment or politics, or whatever – he normally does that at the price of his soul soldto the prince of this world.
And this also makes me keep away from competitive sports and the heroes celebrated by the world. I strongly recommend to not watch stuff like that which is signed and promoted by the Devil.
I suppose this letter is meant to be a joke. The only "joke" (so to say) in this letter, is that Satan would step back from such a contract. He will never let go of a soul until he has destroyed it – or our Lord Jesus delivered it from the powers of darkness.
Serious stuff, this letter. Very serious …
And serious words of God concerning worldiness:
Alexander
P.S.: Can we really imagine our Lord Jesus watching a football game, cheering for one team (while wishing bad luck to the other one), or even join in one of the nasty chorusses sung by the crowd? Then, what do we have to do with such revelry? Again: The letter presented above is no forgery – it is actually the truth behind the matter.
Alexander, I have never met you and probally never will, but you must be a card to be around. 🙂
hi laymond,
i could be wrong but i don't think i detected any veiled humor in alexander's remarks. again, i could be wrong.
"Can we really imagine our Lord Jesus watching a football game, cheering for one team (while wishing bad luck to the other one), or even join in one of the nasty chorusses sung by the crowd?"
No, of course not. Jesus was from Israel and is more of a soccer fan.
Finally!! logic prevails!
Can we imagine Jesus turning water into wine at a wedding so the celebrations can continue? I can! Look up the words for the song "Radical Man"… that's the Jesus I can imagine.
One of the funnier events I recall about the CofC (way before I started attending one) was a wedding I attended at a CofC where the CofC minister boldly told all those in attendance about Jesus "turning the wine into water". Now that may be the Jesus he imagined but it's not the real Jesus.
reminds me of a story about a state patrolman pulling an irish catholic priest over for weaving and after having detected the scent of alcohol coming from the vehicle and observing a cup in th cupholder containing some sort of liquid he asked th priest what was in the cup. " just a wee bit of water i carry with me in case me throat gets dry while delivering a serman." replied th priest. the patrolman then asked the priest to hand him the cup so he could get a whiff of the contents. after smelling the contents of the cup he informed the priest that it smelled is exactly like whine. to which the priest exclaimed " holy mother of mary–he's done it again!!"
I don't know whether or not Jesus played football — but we can make a necessary inference that Jesus was a heterosexual. Therefore I can confidently state (through inference) that Jesus hates soccer.
There was no veiled humor in my post. Just to stir some new thoughts after making the Devil appear like a "gentleman" who discreetly and politely steps back from a contract …
It might need one or two more thoughts to really let the message sink in …
Alexander
Alexander,
I'm in deep mourning over my team's loss, so I can only be pressed into typing for the most serious of issues. Like football. American college football.
And Paul repeatedly used sports analogies in his writing (footraces, boxing — the sadly primitive Romans had not yet invented American football). Therefore, Paul considered sports something appropriately compared to Christianity.
I will now return to my mournful contemplations.
I'll mourn with those who mourn …
jay,
i realize how distraught you must be over alabama's loss. believe me, we dawgs can reate to your sorrow. i don't suppose now would be the time for me to bring up much less 'revel' in our win yesterday ( the same day as your great loss, coincidentally ) which of course 'snapped' our 4 game losing streak–so i won't.
go dawgs
roll tide
or whatever
oh, and did i mention we 'routed' tenn. thought that might take some of the sting away.
we feel your pain. only not as much as before yesterday.
take care,
sid
jay,
always remember that even in our darkest of days–there is light. healing can be yours. it just takes time and patience. i believe you've indicated that you're somewhere in your mid-to-late fifties. i believe you'll find that somewhere along about your mid seventies this will have faded from your memory substantially. hope this helps.
blessings,
sid
go dawgs
notice, if you will, that i'm not using any 'caps' in an effort to remain low key and maintain my humility as well during this emotionally precarious time.
yours truly
sid
go dawgs?
One of my life lessons is that no matter how bad you have it, someone else is worse off.
Jay, my daughter graduated from Auburn. And, my son went there 3 years. ;-(
