New Feature: Scriptural Cross Referencing

I’ve just installed a new feature, from Biblefox, that cross-links all posts here at OneInJesus based on the scriptures cited.

Now, if you click on a scripture link, not only does the text of the scripture pop up, but so does a list of all other OneInJesus posts citing the same scripture. You can click on one of the references to see what else has been said or discussed here on that verse.

Pretty cool what the programmers can do, isn’t it?

Note: The BibleFox thingie works well, but one thing I noticed… on the page where you can download chapters of your Buried Talents book, some of the chapter links no longer work…. the chapters which were named for a scripture reference. Now, when you click on the link for the chapter, you get a BibleFox popup, but you can't access that chapter. (Chapter names that are not scripture references still work fine.) I'd like it if that were fixed!

BWO,Thanks for pointing out that problem. I think I’ve got it fixed. Let me know if you run into it again.

I must be doing something wrong because I can't get a list of posts associated with the verses. I clicked on 1 John 3:11-15 and saw a blog post from Hannah, but I can't find the One In Jesus posts.

I guess my problem is my browser. I was using Firefox 4, but tonight I thought I’d see if Internet Explorer did anything differently and I was shocked at what I was missing. So I updated to Firefox 5 thinking that might be the issue, but it doesn’t work either. When I click on a verse I get taken to the Biblefox website instead of the little window popping up.

    BurntRibs,

I get the same result. Turns out that the latest updates for Firefox and Chrome create this problem. BibleFox has a patch on its website but it requires manual coding — which is WAY beyond my skill set. If anyone knows how to manually edit a WordPress plugin, I’d appreciate the help. Don’t know why they haven’t updated the plug in itself.

In the meantime, you can right click on the link, select Open in New Tab, and avoid closing the OneInJesus window.
