Comments Fixed, Etc.

For the last few days, there’s been a bug in the commenting software — evidently due to an update from WordPress itself.

I’ve turned off the plugin causing the problem, and so commenting should be back to usual.

This costs a few features, but nothing nearly as critical as the commenting feature!

Meanwhile, I’m recovering from a near-heart attack at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. It was tough enough on my poor old heart to have climb the steps on their oh-so-steep upper deck (requires pitons and grappling hooks), but then their quarterback decided to become the second coming of Johnny Unitas just in time for the Alabama game. Whew!!! That was one scary game.

But we did manage to eek out a win over an excellent team. We enjoyed meeting several LSU fans — especially the designated drivers. And we ate well. Enjoyed a fine meal at Weidmann’s in Meridian on the way over. It was my first time there, and it’ll definitely be a regular stop on future trips to Louisiana.

And we enjoyed breakfast at Louie’s Cafe. Best Cajun hashbrowns on the planet!

The Alabama – LSU rivalry is intense but (largely) respectful. The LSU fans are very, very serious about their football — which we Alabama fans can appreciate. They cheer like crazy, sing their alma mater and the national anthem with gusto, and put on a great show
— with a real, live tiger included. Beautiful campus. It’s my favorite place for an away game.
