Recommendation for a Church in Pittsburgh?

Pittsburgh, PA : Pitts landscape Mt. Washington view

Do you know of any good churches in the Pittsburgh area? I would definitely be interested in progressive Churches of Christ, though not exclusively.

My wife and I just moved here a few weeks ago, and we’re searching for a group that not only studies and emphasizes scripture, but acts like Christ in the process. (That’s a poor summary of what it is we’re seeking, but hopefully you get the idea.)

I grew up in the NICOC, and now my insurrectionist brothers and I read your blog regularly — and consternate our parents and in-laws with our radicalism. So…thanks!

I’m not familiar with the area, but hopefully the readers can make some suggestions.

Check out North Hills Church of Christ. I know the pulpit minister personally and highly recommend this church. Their website is (http://www.nhillscoc.org/home.html)

Funny! I was going to comment to recommend North Hills also! We have visited there and have a few acquaintances –we live an hour away, or we would be inclined to go there as well.

I second NHills. I'm an hour or so away, but know some the people there, and they are incredible. If I were to be any where near the area, that's where I'd want to serve.

I taking a crew of teens there next weekend, for a youth conference…again, highly recommended.

I saw the "Church in Pittsburgh" title, and just had to jump on it. I see I wasn't the only one 🙂

Grace, what direction are you from Pittsburgh?

Just saw your reply (wanted to see if others recommended NH as well!). I am west of Pgh, in WV.
