One In Jesus Crash Report

The old posts and pages for One In Jesus have been restored from back up. However, the back up is dated December 20, meaning all posts and comments since then are lost. But the previous five years worth of posts, comments, and pages are all back up and in good order.

I can recover the missing posts — there are only one or two — but I’m not so sure about the comments. Don’t panic yet. (I’m doing enough panicking for all of us.)

I have copies of all comments for the last several days, but there are over a hundred of them. If I post them myself, it will look as though I’m the author. And so, if you wish, I can send you your comments and you can cut and paste them back in the blog, although they’ll be out of order.

I’m open to any other suggestions you might have. For example, where there was an ongoing conversation, I could post the missing comments in a post, post-by-post, and let the thread continue from there.

Meanwhile, the restored site will no longer do Greek, but that’s being worked on, too.

Some of you may receive emailed posts for a second time, and that’s just a side effect of the restoration of the back up. Just delete the extra posts. It won’t be a continuing problem.

I apologize for the lost comments. It normally wouldn’t have been as severe, but the holidays hit immediately after the crash, forcing a delay in restoring the lost posts.

I love the steamroller picture! We do that to ourselves all of the time in cyberspace – virtually, of course! 🙂

    Jay —

I have nothing to suggest for the immediate matter at hand, but while you are doing housekeeping, I have a thought: Is there some way to open up WordPress so that us readers have the ability to bold, italicize, underline, etc? Better still would be a way to effectively quote others. If you’ve been on many vBulletin type bbs’s, you’ll know what I mean.

I realize this can be done through html, but best I can tell, Alexander is the only one capable of doing it.

  3. I don’t have any suggestions either (other than that the missing posts might still be available in Google’s cache), but I am so very delighted to see so much of the site restored.

I actuallly asked a group of Facebook friends to pray toward that outcome!

    Keith,

You (and your friends) are very kind — and obviously effective.

I have all the posts of substance restored, and nearly all the comment. But keep praying for tonight’s maintenance. Shouldn’t be a problem … but …

    …As well, Jay —

You might wanna mark Oct.13 on ur calendar for next year. That is the day Alabama’s dreams of a national championship get dashed.

They’ll be visiting Columbia, MO that day. If it’s a night game, it might be a little too chilly for your guys. It stings to get tackled in the cold, you know.

That’s entirely possible, as Alexander proves daily. It’s just that you have to use HTML codes.

HTML codes are enclosed in “less than” and “greater than” symbols:

The code begins with a command, such as “i” (no quotes) for italics, and ends with “/i” to end the italics.

Hence, to italicize text, type <i>italics</i>.

  7. Jay Guin says:

    Additional HTML codes

    To blockquote

    <blockquote>quoted text</blockquote>.

    To bold

    <b>bold</b>.

    JMF,

I’ll remind you of our recent game at Penn State. We don’t venture north of the Mason-Dixon line often, but we’ve had good success.

But I do look forward to the trip up north to a border state.

And it doesn’t sting at all if they can’t catch you!

    Testing and playing around.
